Rick Bass

I didn't attend Memorial HS, but one of my favorite friends at OSU did. James Richard Bass (Rick) graduated in 1969. After graduation from OSU he attended LSU medical school. He practiced medicine primarily on New Orleans. Several years ago he passed away in a motorcycle accident in Conroe, TX.

He was pretty much a Texan through and through having been raised in Ft Worth most of his life until moving to Tulsa. I think his father was an attorney for one of the oil companies in Tulsa.

Throughout his life he did mission work when he could, and after "retiring" he focused on bringing medical care to the people in the Solomon Islands. He would take a couple of six week trips there per year in association with a group whose mission was to provide residents with technology to get clean water.

Image Fred was my neighbor in high school.  His father and my father were friends since Jr. High.  I’ve attached a picture of Fred and his younger brother Danny (on the right).  He was just a nice guy!
